We focus on the social implementation of “new technologies related to food”.
Japan’s food boasts the world’s highest level of safety. We would like to continue food safety by adding function and disseminating, Japanese food as a brand, led by science, in cooperation with industry.
Our division aims to be a research center that integrates a wide range of engineering researchers, including those in bioengineering, analytical chemistry, information science, and chemical engineering, as well as those in the human sciences, international public policy, and language and culture. It also has the potential to become a center for developing innovative technologies for food engineering in the 21st century.
In addition to the above, we will further develop technologies to produce useful substances such as antibody and vaccine production, aiming to become the best center for industrial biotechnology in Japan.
